English is an international language

Many students wonder which accent is the best to learn. Is there a “proper” form of English? Is it more useful to sound like you’re from North America or the UK? The answer is simple: there is no such thing as a perfect accent in English. The great thing about our language is that it is spoken by billions of people all around the world. As English has spread to more and more locations, it has evolved and become a truly international language. There is an incredible variety of accents from country to country, and even from city to city. So, it doesn’t matter if you studied in the UK, Canada, Australia or elsewhere. The most important thing is to speak clearly and be understood by other speakers of English.
